I am a quilter so I am at my machine all the time. I have no ability to make clothing so I found this fascinating! It did not look any easier than I thought though...I think it is a skill I don't have, but boy I would love to make dresses and skirts for myself and my daughter.

You did a wonderful job on your video! We have the same sewing machine. I just wish I had a designated place to use it.

Looking forward to seeing the video on "sleeve" work as that is an area I always have trouble with. I gotten to the point that I just try and make anything sleeveless because it was getting so frustrating.

Hi Bren, I was hoping it didn't look too complicated. It really isn't at all. Basically I was just sewing straight seams on all the shoulders and sides, then put the two pieces together and sewed one seam at the top.

I wish I was near you so I could learn more about quilting. I made a quilt last fall for my daughter, but I'm sure I did it all 'wrong' even though it turned out really cute. (Sunbonnet Sue pattern) I really enjoyed it, just do not have the hang of cutting identical pieces!!! Or calculating numbers...

Angela- sleeves are next! Hope I can make it looks simple. It isn't hard, but it's not my favorite- can be tricky. I rarely have a problem though, I think it's a mental thing. I plan to do sleeves and embellishments on the next video, then the skirt, then the zipper and hem. Hopefully I can make another today. I had to stop several times yesterday in the middle of the video to get my children re-settled into naps :(

I can barely sew on a button. I'm serious. I admire those that do sew.

No, you did not make it look complicated...it just is not as straight forward as quilting, so for me, it will be a task. I am so in awe that you taught yourself. I taught myself to quilt, but don't know why I can't do more than make an apron...and those are not easy either!
