Potato Storage

Here is my tater box. I think almost everyone around here has one. At least, in my family it's in everyone's home. My grandparents made this one- built it and painted it. My grandmother gave it to me last year. Sometimes I take all the potatoes out and let them 'loose', but I'm usually in a hurry so I just plop the whole bag in there. I wish there were more room for the onions since I got two bags of them this week. Oh well.

I remember my grandma had one of these. Do they somehow keep the potatoes & onions from going bad - or at least delay the process??

I keep my potatoes in a large basket on the floor in my pantry. But I'm always up for figuring out a better way.

I want one of those! I keep mine in their bag in the utility room floor. Mine's not pretty like your's.

Potatoes like the dark. I keep my onions in the fridge.

Hugs!

How cool is that! I am going to keep my eyes open for one. Speaking of potatoes... I can't believe the price of potatoes lately. We are paying $5.77 for a 10# bag here. And ya gotta have taters! LOL. Thanks for posting.

Wow, I've never seen or heard of a "tater box" before. That is really cute! We often go through 10 pounds of potatoes a week, so a tater box is something for me to think about. I usually keep my onions in the fridge, and my taters in one of my bottom cupboards in the kitchen, near the sink.
